Step 8 of 8

Vote!

What happens when you arrive

  1. You give your name and show your ID.
  2. A worker checks you in.
  3. You get your ballot and a private booth.
  4. You mark your choices. Ask a worker if anything is confusing — that is their job.
  5. You cast your ballot. Done!

You cannot “do it wrong.” If you make a mistake on a paper ballot, you can ask for a new one. Skipping a race is fine.

Voting by mail?

Follow the instructions in your ballot packet, and return it on time. You can track your mail ballot on the Texas Secretary of State website.

For in-person voters: once the machine accepts your ballot, it is counted.

That is it — you voted. 🎉 Tell a friend and help them do it too.
